Coffee Is Good For You

Great news for all you hopeless caffeine addicts out there who wouldn't able to stop drinking coffee if their life depended on it. It turns out that coffee is good for you after all.

Although we are used to hearing about how bad coffee is thankfully there occassionally turns up a story in the media to put our minds at rest. Sure, these stories could be cooked up by the coffee industry themselves and perhaps they are funding dodgy research into the health benefits of coffee but the stories make me feel better about my high daily caffeine intake so I welcome them with open arms.

This time the so called faceless "experts" are telling us that coffee "may" cut the risk of dementia by blocking the damage cholesterol can inflict on the body.

Supposedly a vital barrier between the brain and the main blood supply of rabbits fed a fat-rich diet was protected in those given a caffeine supplement. I never have a clue what the experts are talking about but they are telling me coffee is good for me then I'll run with it. If my 8 cups of espresso coffee I drink every day saves me from losing my mind, so much the better.

Get The Best Burr Coffee Grinder You Can Afford

If you want to buy the bets of the best when looking for a coffee grinder then you have little choice, you need to be purchasing one of the many fine burr grinders which are produced today. Now this might sound like a simple matter of going out blindly, finding a coffee grinder retailer and purchasing the one you think looks the best but of course its not that easy.

There are two types of burr coffee grinder, the wheel burr model and the conical burr. If you are after the best taste possible then you will need to get a conical burr grinder. As with anything related to coffee these bad boys are once again the most expensive, but we've all got to make some sacrifices if we want to brew up a cup to the world's best espresso in our own home.

Look out for Mazzer coffee grinder which are amongst the best in the world, although expensive these machines are made with pride and will go a great job in grinding up your coffee beans to the correct consistency and with producing much heat. The result will be great coffee as long as your espresso machine is up to the challenge.

Choosing The Best Coffee Grinder

There is such a huge range of coffee grinders available that it always a difficult decision for anyone new to being a home Barista to find the best coffee grinder for their needs.

If you're looking to get a grinder to use with a espresso coffee machine then you will want to get the best one you can afford if you're going to be happy with your purchase for many years to come. Buying something like a blade grinder from Amazon for 30$ may feel good on the wallet but you are going to be sorely disappointed when you realise that the ground beans produced are not up to scratch.

With a blade grinder the beans will not be ground to a consistent size resulting in the heated water running through the coffee too quickly and being unable to pick up the flavors present. To make matters worse, the blade grinder will usually heat up the ground beans during the grinding process which will result in many of the beautiful coffee oils being turned rancid. This is the last thing you want I you are after that great coffee shop taste you have grown to love.

Neglecting To Buy A Coffee Grinder Is False Economy

Many people who buy an espresso coffee machine for their home feel that purchasing a coffee grinder to go along with it is a waste of money. Their reasoning is that they can conveniently pick up pre-ground coffee in small packets in the supermarket. They think this will save them time and money and will give them the taste they are looking for.

I think that these same people convince themselves that the coffee they then produce from their espresso machines is as good as what they can drink in their local coffee shop. However looking at it logically we can see that you will never be able to get a taste equal to that of freshly ground beans straight from a high quality burr coffee grinder.

For perfect coffee in your home you need all the links in the chain to be as strong as possible. Go without a coffee grinder and you have broken the chain which starts then you buy your coffee and ends when you drink your espresso at home. Buying new coffee grinder when you are used to using pre-ground coffee will take your freshly brewed coffee to new heights. You'll not only get increased enjoyment for yourself but you'll find friends knock on your door far more frequently in search of a fine espresso.
